ASICS x Reigning Champ: Vancouver Edition finds inspiration in the city’s Sea to Sky Corridor trails, an ascent from coastal cityscape to forest-covered mountains.

This 13-piece collection features a collaborative Gel-Quantum 360™ 5 Trail and Gel-Cumulus™ 21 G-TX, performance and transitional apparel styles. Merino wool, Polartec® Alpha Direct and versatile stretch fabrics are crafted into garments designed for grueling endeavours, while footwear is readied for rain-soaked environments with GORE-TEX™ and ripstop nylon.

Vancouver and its surroundings are represented through a colour palette which finds nuanced beauty in an environment often deemed “gloomy.” The collection’s primary graphic reflects five of the Sea to Sky Corridor’s main peaks, woven into and printed onto the garments as topographical maps and rocky textures.

Running in Vancouver is an experience that weaves together disparate elements and creates a new journey every time, a notion that is explored by director Kacper Larksi in a short film that accompanies the release. Featuring local ultramarathon runner Jesse Booi, the film weaves in and out of Vancouver's gritty streets and tells a story of the conscious and subconscious states often experienced by long distance runners.
