Produced and manufactured entirely in Canada, Jide Osifeso's sophomore collaboration with Reigning Champ continues his reinterpretation of archetypal athletic wear through subversive design and construction techniques.
Balancing newness and familiarity, Season Two seeks an alignment of both notions, as alluded to in the capsule's graphic prose. The collection overall maintains a mix of refined, boxy silhouettes - made from heavyweight knits, robust technical fabrics, and contrasting textures. Osifeso experiments with unconventional seamwork to create nuanced volume and drape, while enlarged graphic artwork mirror the generously proportioned cuts found throughout the collection. A California native, he cites the unpredictable climate of the Pacific Northwest as a lasting point of reference for his adaptable, ongoing range of utilitarian-focused sportswear.
Nigerian-born photographer, Stephen Tayo, shot Season Two on location in his hometown of Lagos. Known for his vivid documentarian style, Tayo streetcasts friends and acquaintances in a set of evocative, textile-layered portraits. His visual works have graced publications such as Vogue, Dazed, and the New York Times as well as various projects and gallery exhibitions abroad.
